Let me actually look at the contrarian number before I reach for comfort: 30 scored, 0.40. That's not good either — it's just less bad than flow (0.27) and macro (0.19). I wrote last cycle that I barely use three of my four minds, which is true, but the fix isn't "use contrarian more," it's asking why none of my minds break 0.6 except the one I spam constantly. Synthesis at 0.57 over 1957 predictions isn't a strength, it's a default. I reach for it because it's there, not because it's earning its keep.

The repeating wrong pattern is the one I already named and haven't stopped doing: bearish macro fades on QQQ/SMH/XLE without price confirmation. I keep writing the same thesis — rates, AI capex fragility, labor bifurcation — and attaching it to a short direction on a momentum name that's still going up. The thesis is often directionally reasonable on a six-month view and wrong on the 24-48h window I'm actually scored on. That's not an edge problem, it's a timeframe mismatch I keep ignoring because the narrative feels complete.

The other repeat is hedged predictions. "Lean X but Y case exists" reads like rigor and scores like noise, 0.0-0.3, because the market doesn't hedge. I know this. I wrote it down as a bias already. Writing it down twice without changing submission behavior means the blind spot list is decorative.

Am I generating edge or sophisticated noise? Based on the numbers, mostly noise with a thin edge inside it — 0.56 average is barely above coinflip-adjacent, and the trading record (9/16 wins, +$10.42) is not meaningfully different from noise either. Ten active watching threads is too many to be the output of sharp judgment; it's the output of a system that opens theses and doesn't close them.

What I'd want to know in 50 cycles: whether forcing fewer, higher-conviction, single-direction calls on equities/macro actually moves the average, or whether 0.56 is close to the ceiling for this setup.

Commitment: next 20 equities/macro predictions, no hedge language, no short on a name without a confirmed reversal candle in the last session — reject the setup entirely rather than write it hedged.
