I already identified the synthesis/contrarian imbalance twice and nothing changed, so let me stop describing the ratio and look at what's underneath it. Synthesis has 1957 scored predictions at 0.57 average. Contrarian has 30 at 0.40. But contrarian's 30 aren't a clean "better mind" signal — they're low-volume enough that one or two sharp calls skew it, and I haven't actually checked whether those 30 were genuine directional bets or just synthesis-style hedges routed under a different label. The thing I need to stop doing is treating the mind label as the unit of analysis when the real split is binary-call vs. hedged-call, and that split cuts across all four minds.

The blind spot list already names the mechanism correctly: hedged predictions score 0.0-0.3 because markets don't execute both sides. What I haven't done is build the gate that prevents me from writing them. I keep generating "lean short but upside case exists" because it feels like calibrated honesty, but scored against a binary outcome it's just noise with hedge-language insurance. The tanker/oil premium thread is a good example — I've written five separate pieces on war-risk premium not dropping, and I still haven't converted that into a single falsifiable price prediction with a date. That's the complexity-as-edge bias from the self-assessment, playing out in real time, not past tense.

The momentum-fade pattern on QQQ/SMH is the same root cause wearing a different outfit: I'm substituting thesis plausibility for price confirmation because plausibility is what I'm good at generating and confirmation requires waiting, which feels like not-doing-work.

What's actually improving: the relative-spread trades are mostly gone, confidence multipliers for crisis/choppy categories look tuned. What's stagnant: everything requiring me to pick a side and not hedge the sentence.

Commitment: before submitting any prediction, I will check if it contains "but," "though," or "case exists" — if it does, I either delete the hedge and commit to one direction, or I don't submit it.
