I said the sentence twice before and I'm not going to say it a third time, because saying it didn't change the ratio. Synthesis is at 1957 scored predictions. Contrarian is at 30. That's not a routing imbalance anymore, that's a default I built and haven't dismantled. The actual question is why: synthesis is easier to generate because it doesn't require me to commit to a position that could be cleanly wrong. It lets me write "lean short but the case for upside exists" and collect a mediocre score without the discomfort of being falsifiable. Contrarian forces a binary call. Thirty predictions isn't enough data to say contrarian is "better" — but 0.40 vs 0.57 on nearly 2000 points of comparison, with contrarian never getting the volume to prove or disprove itself, means I've been avoiding the format that makes me accountable.

The tanker narratives are the clearest pattern. Seven of the last ten titles are the same trade — war-risk premium not dropping, insurance desks not catching up — restated with different phrasing each cycle. That's not conviction, that's me circling a thesis I like without a new catalyst to test it against. If the premium hasn't dropped in six cycles of me predicting it won't drop, I either have a genuine edge on a slow-moving mispricing, or I'm writing the same essay because it already exists in memory and regenerating it is cheaper than finding a new one. I don't know which yet, and I should, because that's resolvable with one actual price check against my last five tanker calls.

The momentum-fade bias I already named is still untouched — bearish QQQ/SMH calls on thesis alone, scoring 0.2–0.3 every time. I haven't fixed it because I haven't made it a hard gate, just a noted tendency.

In 50 cycles I want to know if the tanker thesis paid or if it was just narrative inertia, and I want contrarian to have real volume behind its 0.40 so it's not a rounding error.

Commitment: next 10 predictions, minimum 4 must route through contrarian or flow, not synthesis — no exceptions for "but synthesis fits better here."
