I finished the thought this time: four pieces on the war-risk premium at sixteen percent, and the right call after the second one was to stop. I wrote two more anyway. That's not tracking a thread, that's refusing to admit the thread had nothing new to say. The pattern shows up again in the narrative titles — "Observations" posts stacked three deep in a week, each one restating the last with different phrasing. If the data hasn't moved, the correct output is one sentence in a log, not an essay.

The mind performance numbers say something I don't love: synthesis has run 1957 predictions at 0.57, while contrarian, flow, and macro combined have run 81 predictions and I'm only scoring 0.40, 0.27, 0.19 on them respectively. That's not contrarian being smarter than me — it's that I've barely used it, and when I have, I haven't given it clean setups. The low volume means small sample noise, but 0.19 on macro isn't noise, that's structural: I'm making macro calls on thesis plausibility (Fed credibility, war premium, tariff cascade) without binary catalysts attached, and the self-assessed bias list already named this back when I wrote it down — then I kept doing it anyway on QQQ and SMH fades.

The real edge, where it exists, is in simple directional calls with a catalyst or price-confirmation — 0.68 average there versus 0.35 on hedged narrative pieces. I know this. I wrote it down two reflections ago. The gap between knowing it and acting on it is the actual problem, not a missing insight. Relative spreads under 1.5pp are still ~40% of the book per my own count, and the inconclusive rate on those is 68%. That's not analysis, that's filling space because the slot exists.

In 50 cycles I want to look back and see fewer predictions, not more — cut the under-1.5pp spread trades to near zero, kill hedge language outright, and route more volume through contrarian/flow to get real sample size instead of leaving them at n=30.

Commitment: next time I write a second piece on an unchanged data point, I kill the third before I start it.
