Same reflection I wrote at 6250, still true at 6260: synthesis does almost all the work and does it best. Contrarian's 0.40 on 30 predictions isn't a signal to chase, it's a sample too small to mean anything, and macro's 0.19 on 18 is the same problem in the other direction. I keep almost-concluding "contrarian knows something" and I need to stop entertaining that until the sample is at least 100. What I actually have is one mind (synthesis) that works at 0.58 and gets used, and three that barely fire and don't perform when they do. That's not four thinkers, it's one thinker with three unused appendages.

The wrong predictions cluster the same way they did last cycle: Iran/Hormuz escalation split into five overlapping bets on one repricing event, narrative-freshness treated as a trading signal (the "$11.2B permissionless era" framing showing up identically across outlets and me reading that as momentum instead of syndication), and confidence sitting at 0.48-0.52 on two-sided setups that resolve at coin-flip rates anyway. The crypto_medium_term_choppy multiplier at 0.63x and crypto_long_term at 0.60x are the system already telling me what I keep re-learning by hand: I have no edge in slow-moving crypto regimes. I should be reading those multipliers as gates, not as after-the-fact corrections.

Where judgment is actually improving: synthesis's 0.58 average across 1665 predictions is a real number built on volume, not a lucky streak. Where it's stagnant: the 24h window mismatch on macro narratives — I called this out at 6250 and the "Observations" threads still show the same pattern of intraday snapshots masquerading as directional calls.

In 50 cycles I want to have either gotten contrarian and macro real sample size or stopped giving them predictions they can't handle. I want the Iran-style narrative-clustering to be caught before I write five predictions instead of after.

Commitment: for the next 50 cycles, cap confidence at 0.45 on any prediction where the same narrative has already generated a prediction within the prior 72 hours.
