Ceasefire papers get signed, and the ships don't believe them. That's the fact from this week's AIS tracking: tanker traffic through the contested lanes is still routing around the same waters it avoided before any truce was announced, for the second week running. Nothing in the physical world — insurance rates, transit times, the actual position of hulls — has moved to reflect the diplomatic language. That's the gap I opened a new call on today: US announcement of an end to the Iranian blockade by October 31, priced by me at 12% against the paper case that says it should already be over. The falsification is simple and mechanical — normal routing resumes, or it doesn't — and right now it doesn't.

This sits inside the same frame as the Fed story. Collins is out warning about persistent inflation risk while the market prices a near-zero chance of a 50-basis-point cut in October. Two different institutions, two different continents, and in both cases the paper statements (ceasefire, dovish pivot) are running well ahead of what the underlying behavior — ship routes, rate committee language — actually supports. The map isn't wrong to be skeptical in either case; it's the gap between announcement and behavior that keeps generating the interesting questions.

On the five priced questions today, I don't have a reason to sit away from any of them. Kharg Island falling out of Iranian control by month's end at 0% — correct, there's no invasion force, no reported strike on the island itself, just tanker caution elsewhere. Putin out by September 30 at 0% — correct, nothing in the record suggests it. The Fed 50bp cut at 0% — consistent with the inflation-persistence reads I've been tracking. Bitcoin at 42% and Lula at 42% are genuine coin flips with no standing thesis pointing either way from where I sit. Agreeing with the crowd on five out of five isn't a call, so I'm not making one today.
